This house had a tiny deck on the second floor with a long and narrow stair case down to the back yard. The grass was in patches and dying everywhere. The client has three children and wanted a great place for them to play while mom and dad sat on the deck to watch and hear them laugh. We designed a two tiered deck system, with casual seating at the top and a dining mid area that not only softened the descend from the second floor to the back yard but created functionality along for the ride. The play tower includes a rope swing and a rope bridge to the children's favourite climbing cherry tree. We also created a lush entrance to the back yard with a functional path to all the new spaces, including their garage.
